I based my technique Klimt's garden. The elements can all be found in my garden but not necessarily in the right place. I have used gouache on textured plaster. I am happy with some areas but not others but I did enjoy doing it. I hope the pic is the right way round when I post it.

Your choice of colours leads the eye brilliantly into the picture. I particularly like the range of greens you've used, they really show the different plants throughout the garden.

Your colours & texturing are brilliant, texture was applied after the ground?   It’s very balanced and I love the door up the far left.

Definitely a successful homage to Klimt Laraine, with plenty of your own interpretation and style too. Its great to see the sketch come to life. I'd agree that some areas are working really well and others could benefit from further work. Where the colour is strong in the foreground the black accents sit harmoniously -but where the paint is paler in the background the black marks seem too dominant. I was interested to note in the Klimt e both copied how strong the colours were in the background -he still used that saturated ultramarine blue and chrome green. Perhaps think about how you could create the impression of strong dark blue/indigo shadows to compliment the warm sunlight and blend the black marks?

The texture works really well and I love the focal point of your Easter Island sculptures!

Nice one Laraine, have to agree it has a good feeling of depth with the reds at the front, not sure I have that in my effort.
