Another ink and watercolour. Summer has progressed and the yellows are now warmer.

Finished parts 1&2 a week ago. I was going to post all three parts together, but part 3 has gone pear shaped. So I am still working on it but here are parts 1

Pencil, watercolour and watercolour pencils. I couldn't see the colour of the red kite, viewed against a bright blue sky.

This is only postcard size. It’s polyfilla scraped down with a palette knife and then coated with gesso. Paint was put on with a palette knife. Now should I do more?

The sky is at the top!

I used ordinary corrugated card board then put paper from shoe packing on with acrylic gel. For the tree I just used more paper. Finally I covered everything with white gesso before drawing various different media.

I finally managed to snatch a few minutes for some quick garden sketches, with pen and watercolour or aquarelle pencils.

I got up early one morning to draw this little critter in my bedroom. It had been there for days. I don't think it was impressed with me blowing gently on it to keep getting it to change its position, because it disappeared the next day. Goodness knows where it is now. Anyway, a light ink wash and much experimenting with different paper because working with a dip-dip mapping pen is pretty hard on some textures.

I'm a late starter, but now ready.  Where's the sun?

NB We have a hazel tree and this is what I pulled out of our fuschia pot!

I’m a bit heavy handed with watercolours still but no doubt a lighter touch will come with practice.  As the weather has been so changeable I mainly resorted to taking photos and then drawing from them.

Weather not been brilliant so haven’t been out much. Only had a small sketchbook so there are three separate images. Image 1

Managed to find a break in the weather to resume a bit of peaceful study. There's a lot more I want to draw, including the delicate Pholcus spider that lives in my bedroom.

...so I went inside and picked up my 35 year old pine cone and it exploded! Lots of helicopters went all over the place! I had great fun playing with them...
